Noon News: Carphone Warehouse to Sell Samsung Galaxy S3, FUD Attack on Google Drive, Mobile Malware Close to PC Malware Levels

High street retailer Carphone Warehouse has announced that it will sell the next Samsung Galaxy Smartphone, commonly known as the Galaxy S3. The company has put up a registration page which urges interested parties to register. It says that the Next Galaxy would come to all major networks. As it stands only, O2 and Vodafone have confirmed that they will be selling Samsung's forthcoming flagship handset.

Less than 24 hours after Google launched its Drive cloud-based storage solution, Cnet published a controversial article entitled "Who owns your files on Google Drive" and claims that "Google takes everything you own". The article compares three carefully selected portions of the terms and conditions documents of Dropbox, Skydrive and Google Drive.

Samsung has confirmed that the Next Galaxy commonly known as the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get a quad core processor called the Exynos 4 Quad which will run at 1.4GHz. The chip which was also known as the Exynos 4420 packs four Cortex-A9 based processors with ARM's Mali400 GPU to deliver an all ARM-based system on chip solution.

Bit9 has revealed the results of its 2012 Cyber-Security Survey, namely that concerns over attacks by hacktivist groups, along with state-sponsored cyber-actions, are the biggest worries for IT security experts. The survey of some 2,000 IT security professionals found that 64 per cent believed their company would be hit by a cyber-attack in the next six months.

Symantec has stated to ITProPortal, at the ?Infosec' Internet Security event in London - mobile Malware is at a level close to its computer variant, putting it on par with the types of exploits and vulnerabilities that the PC is exposed to, from malicious code. Sian John, stated: "What has happened with mobile Malware, is that we've gone from a very small number of Malware, but again, we have seen an exponential growth with lots of variants, again it's because it is targeted and it is monetised".
